Pasture raised broilers
Spring 2025 we start raising broilers on pasture. Just like our laying hens, we move our broilers to a fresh piece of pasture every 12 to 24 hours. After their short period of impact, the pasture gets rested for at least 3 months before being ‘grazed’ again. For this we have built adapted ‘hoopcoops’ in which the birds have plenty of space and are protected from predators.
Besides what they can forage themselves from the constantly refreshed pasture, we feed organic, soy free, fish meal free chicken feed. We raise the slowest growing breed of broiler that is currently available in Finland. The birds are slaughtered professionally by us in our own on-farm slaughter facility.
Our production period is limited to May till October, as we cannot be out on pasture the rest of the year. We sell these pasture raised birds fresh during the summer and frozen during the rest of the year. They are sold as whole birds only, available from the farm or selected REKO markets, as well as through our 2025 presales.
We will also sell stewing hens (1,5 year old laying hens), starting May 2025.
